We are pleased to offer Kirkley Pantry as one of our ministries. The Pantry provides a nutritious selection of food from grocery-style shelves for a small membership fee.
Sadly, so many people are in need of affordable food at this time, so, at present our membership is full.
Kirkley Pantry is open on Tuesdays 10:00 am - 12:30 pm and 5:00 - 6:00 pm at Kirkley Church Hall, on St Peter's Street: a very short walk from the church itself.
For a small weekly subscription of £3.50, members of this pantry will be able to select food, including fresh fruit and vegetables and store cupboard favourites, to the value of £15, £20 or more.
If you want to contact someone about this pantry, please email [email protected] or call 07534 105306.

Food on Plates (Blog)
At Kirkley Pantry we are all about putting good food on people's plates where it is needed and diverting it from waste.
Sometimes we have so much of one thing, that we are stretched to make sure it is used. Recently, it was eggs! We had so many eggs that our Pantry Manager would not let anyone leave the building without a box or two of eggs! Volunteers and staff included! That included me, Revd Helen, and I took home more eggs than I ever thought I would eat in a short period of time. But I was determined not to let them go to waste! I would get creative about breakfast! Those eggs are all gone now. On a trip to our local Co-op to buy more, I found strawberries and salmon in the "yellow-sticker" fridge. Food also nourishes through artistic presentation and interesting complementary tastes! Creative cooking can be a great way to use up left-overs or ingredients that need to be eaten up!
